Opening thematic exhibition: “The 50th anniversary of Mau Than Spring 1968 - Unfading memories”

 

In the morning of February 02, 2018, the Museum of Ho Chi Minh City held the opening of a special exhibition titled “The 50th anniversary of Mau Than Spring 1968 - Unfading memories” on the 50th anniversary of the General Offensive and Uprising in Mau Than Spring 1968.

Attending the ceremony was the attendance of Mr. Huynh Thanh Lap - former head of Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation, Vice President of Vietnam - India Friendship Association; Mr. Duong Quan Ha - Chairman of the Resistance Tradition Club of Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Le Buu - Former Director of the General Department of Sports, Former Director of Ho Chi Minh City Sports Department; Senior revolutionists being historical witnesses of the General Offensive and Uprising in Mau Than Spring 1968; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City; Comrades in the Party Executive Committee, the leaders of Departments, former leaders of Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City; Representatives of departments, sectors, associations...and a large number of Youth Union members, students of ​​Ho Chi Minh City.

More than 200 images, materials and objects associated with the characters, events in each operation of the revolutionary forces in Saigon - Gia Dinh displayed in the exhibition have revived the half-century memories on the General Offensive and Uprising in Mau Than Spring 1968 at the nerve-center of the US-backed Government of Saigon.

The exhibition dedicated to “The 50th anniversary of Mau Than Spring 1968 - Unfading memories” overviewed the process of preparation, development and results of the General Offensive and Uprising in Mau Than Spring 1968 with three display parts:

1. Preparation for the General Offensive and Uprising in Mau Than Spring 1968.

2. Development of the General Offensive and Uprising in Mau Than Spring 1968.

3. Meaning of the victory of the General Offensive and Uprising in Mau Than Spring 1968.

The exhibition will open from February 02, 2018 to June 15, 2018.
