Training workshop on

Training workshop on “Community – based inventorying

of intangible cultural heritage”

 

          In the morning of August 05, 2019, the Museum of Ho Chi Minh City, the University of Culture of Ho Chi Minh City and the International training Center for intangible cultural heritage in the Asia-Pacific region (CRIHAP) jointly organized the training workshop on “Community – based inventorying of intangible cultural heritage”.

          Attending the opening of the training course was Dr. Pham Thi Thanh Huong, Head of the Culture, UNESCO Office in Ha Noi; Mr. Liang Bin, General Director of CRIHAP; Assoc. Prof., Dr. Nguyen The Dung, the Rector of the University of Culture of Ho Chi Minh City and Master Pham Duong My Thu Huyen, Director of the Museum of Ho Chi Minh City and 36 students, who are officers in charge of operations in the field of intangible cultural heritage, from the provinces of Vietnam and the countries in Southeast Asia: Singapore, Myanmar, Laos, Indonesia, Brunei and East Timor.

          The training program is built with a lot of content from the theoretical and practical issues on the inventory of intangible cultural heritage under the 2003 Convention; the identification and inventory; the participation of the community, the ethical rules in the inventory of community-based intangible cultural heritage; the methods and techniques for inventory, the method of documenting intangible cultural heritage; the organization and information storage; the existing inventory frames in Vietnam as well as some typical inventory experience in Vietnam…will be an opportunity for students to learn and exchange practical experience, contributing to good implementation of the inventory of intangible cultural heritage in each locality, each country. This is one of the meaningful activities that contribute to expanding the cooperative relationship between organizations and individuals within the country and Southeast Asia. At the same time, through this training, contributing to introducing and promoting the image of each nation's intangible cultural heritage as well as the international connection and integration.

          The training workshop takes place from August 5, 2019 to August 9, 2019 at Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture and the Museum of Ho Chi Minh City.
