In the atmosphere of nationwide and citywide official celebration of the 69th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 – August 19, 2014), and the 69th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s reading the Declaration of Independence (September 02, 1945 – September 02, 2014), on August 19, 2014, approved by the City People’s Committee, Department of Home Affairs, combined with Museum of Ho Chi Minh City, held an exhibition under the theme “Records of the B-returning cadres in Ho Chi Minh City (Sai Gon – Cho Lon – Gia Dinh) via archival materials”.
After Geneva Agreement 1954, tens of thousands of Southern cadres and soldiers, among whom were thousands of cadres, and soldiers in Sai Gon, Cho Lon, Gia Dinh, were regrouped to the North for studying and working, and from 1959 to before April 30, 1975, part of such cadres, and soldiers were secretly dispatched by the State back to the South to join the resistance to the American for national salvation, for the South’s liberation and national unification. Implementing the guidelines by Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, during 2012 and 2013 Department of Home Affairs already received 1,920 files of the B-returning cadres of Ho Chi Minh City, delivered by Center for National Archives III. Since then, the City has made many efforts to search for the addresses of the B-returning cadres and their relatives, and so far nearly 300 addresses already found.
The typical photos, pictures and artifacts selected and about more than 1,000 files of the B-returning cadres, have helped remind visitors of a heroic period of the former generation.
On this occasion, Painter Pham Thanh Tam (Huynh Biec) also donated the following publications to Museum of Ho Chi Minh City:

The exhibition lasted 15 days (from August 19, 2014 to September 02, 2014) for the B-returning cadres and their relatives to search for the files of themselves and their relatives.
