“Back to the Source” at the Museum of Ho Chi Minh City: The youth of the Centre for Psychosocial Rehabilitation of Mental Patients in Ho Chi Minh City take pride in following in the footsteps of the heroic city.

Within the framework of Youth Month 2024 with the theme “Youth Volunteerism for Community Life”, on the morning of March 5, 2024, The Youth Union of the Centre for Psychosocial Rehabilitation of Mental Patients in Ho Chi Minh City collaborated with the Ho Chi Minh City Museum to organise the program “Back to the Source”. This aims to help youth members explore and understand the history of the formation and development of the Saigon – Ho Chi Minh City region.

The Youth Union of the Centre for Psychosocial Rehabilitation of Mental Patients in Ho Chi Minh City visited the Museum of Ho Chi Minh City.

During the visit, the youth members were guided by the museum’s narrator, who provided an overview of the history, and architecture of the building, and led them through various exhibition rooms. These rooms showcased information on administrative geography, nature – archaeology, commercial – trading port – services, industrial –handicraft in Saigon – Ho Chi Minh City…

Touring Exhibition

In addition to content related to geography, economy, culture, and society, the group also listened to the military’s and people’s heroic struggle in the Saigon – Ho Chi Minh City region during the two resistance wars against French colonialism and the imperialistic American regime. Consequently, it inspired a sense of love for the homeland and pride in the heroic traditions of the previous generations who fought on the heroic land of Ho Chi Minh City.

The practical tour at the Museum of Ho Chi Minh City has, to some extent, helped the younger generation better understand the historical and cultural traditions of the land in Ho Chi Minh City – the place where they live and study. From this experience, they are encouraged to actively learn and contribute to the nation’s building and development, making their homeland increasingly prosperous and beautiful.
