Every year, the festival of flower street and book street takes place with a joyful and exciting atmosphere to welcome a new spring. Especially this year at the 2015 New Year’s Eve Book Street Festival, Ho Chi Minh City Museum participated in an exhibition at the thematic area “Sacred islands and seas” . With the available documentary images of the City Museum, combining images collected from the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Department of Information and Communication and press agencies to introduce historical evidences that confirm Vietnam’s sovereignty over the two archipelagos Hoang Sa – Truong Sa, and at the same time introduces activities taking place on the island district. The exhibition takes place from February 16, 2015 (December 28 of the lunar calendar) to February 22, 2015 (January 4 of the lunar calendar). The exhibition consists of 3 parts:
– Part 1: “The Hoang Sa and Truong Sa belong to Vietnam” includes historical documents affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagoes.
– Part 2: “Protecting Vietnam’s sovereignty over sea and islands” are images that raise the spirit of vigilance, holding a gun firmly to protect the sea and islands of the homeland.
– Part 3: “Today’s Hoang Sa and Truong Sa” introduces activities and changes of the island district in the interest of leaders at all levels, the people of the country in general and of Ho Chi Minh City in particular. .
