On the morning of May 18, 2018, the Ho Chi Minh City Museum held a thematic activity “Learning about traditional knitting in Ho Chi Minh City”. The content of the thematic activity includes an introduction by Mr. Tran Van Ngan – Secretary of the cell of My Khanh B hamlet, Thai My commune, Cu Chi district about the process of formation and development of Thai My weaving village and experience. Experience the processing stages to produce a traditional bamboo and rattan product under the guidance of artisans from Thai My commune, Cu Chi district.
The atmosphere of the symposium was very exciting when students from schools in Ho Chi Minh City: Lac Long Quan Primary School, Lac Hong Middle School, University of Literature Ho Chi Minh City, University of Social Sciences and Humanities… have hand-made traditional wicker products. The symposium introduced the City people as well as domestic and foreign visitors to the features of traditional wicker products in Saigon – Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values of the nation.
