The history of the formation and development of Ho Chi Minh City over 300 years has shown many ups and downs of the nation. Including the period of revolutionary struggle under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh, who liberated the people, liberated the country from the chains of slavery, especially in the liberation of the South,  and brought reunification to Vietnam. This has left a bright spot in the glorious history of the Vietnamese nation in general, of the Southern region as well as the Saigon – Cho Lon – Gia Dinh region in particular.

With the tradition of “when you eat a fruit, think of the man who planted the tree”, having eternal gratitude to the heroes and martyrs as well as those who have sacrified their blood, youth and had dedication to this glorious revolutionary cause. Museum of Ho Chi Minh City has collected many artifacts, documents and pictures about the glorious resistance period to display to the public. With that sacred and noble meaning, through the artifacts, documents and pictures displayed here, we sincerely hope that you will be able to comprehend the significance of the peace, independence, and freedom in Vietnam today, which were obtained only after great sacrifices, including the sweat, blood, and tears of countless individuals.

The exhibition would like to introduce more than 250 artifacts, documents, pictures and sketches, which are original artifacts associated with many events and people during the resistance war to save the country. Among them were those who had gone, there are people who are still alive and have served in many areas of life – society.

Although each artifact, which is on display in this room, is very small and simple, it contains many profound meanings of a past arduous struggle period of the previous generations of our ancestors.
