COLLECTION OF SOUTHERN FOLK WORSHIPPING STATUES
Folk worshipping statues are the symbols of Religious beliefs in part of Southern Ethnics, with the Viet – Hoa cultural exchanges and the reflection of native culture. From simple symbols to the images of Religious beliefs in the southern folk worship; Abundance in Statue system of Buddhism, Taoism, and the Gods are worshipped by the Southern ethnics. This reflect the intergration in the cultural and spiritual life of Vietnamese, through their activities, and thoughts of the different periods to form a specific religious folk system in the South. Artistic technique and the materials bring unique aspect to the folk statues in this area. The exhibition of “Collection of Southern folk worshipping statues” was the combination between Ho Chi Minh City Museum and Collectors.
